The State FFA Delegate Experience ensures that the California Association of FFA remains a "grassroots" organization that serves students at the local level.
Held in conjunction with the annual State FFA Leadership Convention, the experience brings together over 600 student leaders from across the state. The delegation is comprised of 2 voting delegates from each chartered FFA chapter (330 chapters) along with 13 State FFA Executive Committee members. Students convene to share ideas and perspectives that will ensure the continued progress of the association.

Again, each delegate will attend 3 different Zoom calls. One Orientation Zoom (which ever works best for you), the assigned committee meeting Zoom and the delegate business session Zoom.
At the end of this email is the information and link to join the Orientation Zooms. Please only attend 1 of these Zoom meetings. In the coming days, you will receive a separate email with your specific assigned committee Zoom invite and other important information pertaining to voting and the delegate business session.
As for Zoom, during orientation we will discuss all the features we will be using during this process and how to operate things from your end of the call. What you will need to do before Wednesday or Thursday of this week is ensure you have internet access, secure a device with video and audio capabilities, download Zoom (https://zoom.us/download), find headphones if you have them and then test your devices audio and video. You can do this by following this link https://zoom.us/test. It will ask you to “Join Meeting Test.” Click “Join” and if you have yet to download the application it will prompt you to do so. Then a window will pop up saying “The Host has another meeting in progress.” Just simply click the “Test Computer Audio” button for the test window to pop up and this is where you can test both audio and video.
Other items to keep in mind for all Zoom meetings.
1. It is recommended that students are in Official Dress for the Committee Meetings and the Delegate Business Session (A polo or FFA shirt will also work if OD is unavailable). Students do not need to be in OD for the orientation meetings but should be wearing school appropriate clothing (covering shoulders is recommended).
2. Background noise can become distracting during video calls. Headphones help to minimize this and ensure audio comes in clearly.
3. What is happening behind someone during a video call can also be very distracting. Backgrounds can be blurred or made into a solid color or picture through the Zoom app. Video will also be able to be switched on and off by the individual. This will be explained further during orientation.
